Bishop Joe Jones, Jr. is the Vice Presiding Bishop and Prelate of the Florida Region of Covenant of Truth International Fellowship, having been appointed to the office in 2022 and tasked with the mission of building a solid community of healthy leaders through Godly character, integrity, transparency, and trust.
Bishop Jones was raised in the church, and attributes much of his growth and maturity in the faith to his former Pastor Bishop Samuel G. Freeze and former Presiding Bishop Moses Lewis of the Church of Christ
Holiness unto the Lord. Under the tutelage of his former Bishop, in the year 2001 he gave
his life to the Lord in the year 2005. Bishop Jones remained a faithful servant in the ministry
and in the year 2007 accepted the call to ministry. After heeding the call, Bishop Jones
accepted the privilege, blessing, and responsibility of preaching for only 5 minutes each
Sunday. But with a burning desire to preach and teach the Word of God, Bishop Jones asked
and was granted the opportunity to preach full sermons as lead by the Holy Spirt and
has done so since.
Bishop Jones continued to serve faithfully in the Church of Christ Holiness unto the Lord
where he was consecrated as an Elder in 2012, appointed as Interim Pastor (2013) and then
Pastor (2015) of Upper Room Temple in Vero Beach Florida where he traveled over half a
million miles during his tenure. He also served as the Florida State Youth Department
President, 5th Sunday Union Moderator, Secretary of the Florida State Board, and
Administrative Assistant to the Bishop. While Bishop Jones was committed to this various roles and responsibilities, in 2017 Bishop Jones was given a vision by God to start a ministry in his community. In 2021, Bishop Jones departed the Church of Christ Holiness unto the Lord with blessings from his leaders, and in 2022, he submitted to God’s calling and launched House of Mercy and Empowerment Worship Center with his wife in the city of Longwood, Florida.
As both Vice Presiding Bishop of Covenant of Truth International Fellowship and Senior Pastor of House of Mercy and Empowerment Worship Center, Bishop Jones is highly regarded by many and can always be found serving faithfully, leading with a servant’s heart, obeying the Lord, and preaching the Word of God with an anointing that breaks yokes and makes a difference.
Bishop Jones is invested in making a difference in his community, and therefore launched the community-driven initiative Empowerment Saturday in 2022 where he has been successful in connecting the community members to local business and organizations that they are in need of. Bishop Jones’s greatest passions in ministry include building God’s Kingdom one soul at a time, and witnessing people fulfil their God-given assignments.
As a native of the beautiful city of Oviedo, Florida, Bishop Jones attended and was educated in public school in surrounding cities. Bishop Jones was awarded a doctorate of divinity from Victory Theological Seminary, and also holds an honorary doctorate from Reformed Theological Seminary.
Bishop Jones is the honored husband of Alexandria Jones, and the proud father of four children.
